Agadir desalination plant construction project, Morocco

275.000 m³

capacidad diaria

1,53 m³/s

caudal nominal de rechazo de salmuera

This project includes the necessary works for seawater intake and brine discharge for the Agadir desalination plant in Morocco.

The construction of the desalination plant is planned in two stages. In the first phase, the necessary infrastructure will be provided to meet the production needs. In the second phase, the facilities will be expanded to supply double the flow. However, all the intake infrastructure is constructed for both phases.

Location Agadir, Morocco

Date: 2011

Scope of the project: design of the intake and discharge pipelines for the desalination plant. Design of the intake tower and pump chamber. Dilution and maritime climate study.

Significant data: the desalination plant will operate with electricity generated from a wind farm and will have a daily capacity of 275,000 m³, expandable to 450,000 m³ per day. A nominal brine discharge flow rate of 1.53 m³/s is discharged into the natural environment at a depth of 2 meters.
