The extension of the Fujairah seawater desalination plant (United Arab Emirates) will have to discharge an additional brine rejection flow of 2.58 m3\/s into the natural environment. It is therefore necessary to design a discharge system, a diffuser section, which achieves an initial dilution such that the area affected by the salt concentration of the discharge is minimised.<\/p>

The first option to be studied, is the possibility of carrying out this discharge through the current outfall of the desalination plant, and secondly, the possibilities for the design of a new diffuser section will be analysed.<\/p>
