The salt flats are made up of two natural lagoons: Torrevieja (14 km from the port of Torrevieja) and Torrevieja (14 km from the port of Torrevieja).<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0of wet surface ) and La Mata (7 km<sup>2<\/sup>\u00a0). Both lagoons are connected to the sea by a channel (acequi\u00f3n) with gates that regulate the volume of water according to the needs of each season of the year.<\/p><p>The activities carried out at the port facility are the loading of bulk vessels by means of conveyor belts and loading gantry.
