The design and elaboration of the methodologies for carrying out the study met these objectives.

• To provide a basic methodological tool for understanding the processes of beach formation and development.
• Establish the cause-effect relationship between the different processes of the coastal system and the identification of the causes of erosion.
• Describe qualitatively the coastal dynamics, determine the sediment balance: erosion, transport and accumulation of sediments. Classify and characterise ecosystems, habitats and their services.
