The project for the new pier, located in the North Atlantic Autonomous Region (RAAN), consisted of the detailed development of a 1,058-meter-long access bridge supported by metal piles with spans of 17,5 meters in length; a general cargo pier with two-sided docking for ships of up to 15.000 DWT, measuring 212 meters in length and 30 meters in width; and a hydrocarbons pier for ships of up to 5,000 DWT.

It is a multipurpose terminal that allows the handling of breakbulk, containerized, liquid, and bulk cargoes, and whose traffic will increase depending on the level of the port's involvement in Nicaragua's trade.
