Design basis for the implementation of an offshore wind farm at Wikinger, Germany

350.000

households benefited

350 MW

of capacity

The Wikinger offshore wind farm was inaugurated in October 2018. At the end of 2017, Iberdrola successfully connected the offshore wind farm to the national grid and, since then, it has been supplying 350 megawatts (MW) of capacity to the German electricity grid and providing high-efficiency, renewable energy to 350,000 households - equivalent to 20% of the energy demand of the state of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.

Proes carried out for Iberdrola the definition of the metoceanic conditions based on the available data for the pre-design of the EMP implementation at the site.
