This is a study of alternatives and the corresponding bidding project for a terminal for the unloading of iron ore on Baffin Island, above the Arctic Circle. The project includes the constructability and operability study of the terminal.

The climatic conditions with temperatures below -50ºC and sea ice for 9 months out of the year and thicknesses up to 2 m, are a determining factor in the design, project execution and logistics of the project, which has been designed with tetralobular concrete caissons and a prefabricated superstructure.
