Dilution study for Fujairah desalination plant, UAE

2,58 m3/s

Caudal adicional de rechazo de salmuera

The extension of the Fujairah seawater desalination plant (United Arab Emirates) will have to discharge an additional brine rejection flow of 2.58 m3/s into the natural environment. It is therefore necessary to design a discharge system, a diffuser section, which achieves an initial dilution such that the area affected by the salt concentration of the discharge is minimised.

The first option to be studied, is the possibility of carrying out this discharge through the current outfall of the desalination plant, and secondly, the possibilities for the design of a new diffuser section will be analysed.
