Feed and detailed engineering of a natural gas plant on Lake Kivu, Rwanda

400 m

of depth - gas location

Development of FEED for an extraction, treatment, and separation platform for natural gas trapped beneath the water column of Lake Kivu at a depth of 400 meters. Compression and transportation of natural gas to the shore through a submerged pipeline for the feed of combined cycle power plants.

The carried-out works include a 3D model of the complete offshore platform , stress analysis of critical pipeline systems, design of a suspended pipeline at a depth of -20 meters for 36 kilometers between the platform and the coast, and design and configuration of PAUs (Process Automation Units) and auxiliary equipment.
