This is the construction design for an underwater outfall in Xagó, Asturias, for the sanitation of the Avilés estuary. The planned outfall will carry wastewater previously treated at the Maqua WWTP to a point in the marine environment.

It consists of two parts, the land outfall and the submarine outfall. The land outfall is made of reinforced concrete with an internal diameter of Ø2000 mm. The submarine outfall has two sections, one made of reinforced concrete with an internal diameter of Ø2000 mm, and the other made of HDPE DN1800 SDR 26, with a length of 2,588 m.
