Within the framework of the improvement of the Talara refinery complex, located on the northwest coast of Peru, the installation of a demineralisation plant is proposed, as well as a water desalination plant, together forming the water treatment plant. Associated with this treatment plant, the seawater intake and discharge pipes are designed, at a rate of 12.5 m ³/s.

The water intake system consists of two High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and reinforced concrete pipes, which are responsible for conducting the seawater to the pump chamber. They have an internal diameter of 2000 mm.

Location Talara, Piura, Peru

Date: 2011

Scope of the project: intake and discharge project for desalination plant

Significant data: the design of two intake towers, one for each line, located 62 m apart, with a design flow rate of 6.44 m³/s, is included.
