The project consists of the definition of the works of Ribera I and II piers, defined in the Master Plan of Infrastructures that pursues the expansion of the port of Carboneras. The Master Plan proposes the construction of a quay in the place where the Auxiliary pier is located and another pier of smaller dimensions than the previous one, attached to the opposite side of the dock, where the conveyor belts that serve the main dock of the port run.

In the variant project, the aim is to optimize the Ribera I Pier of the basic project, with a draft of 18.00 m and a length of about 246 m, by modifying the length, maintaining the internal geometry of the reinforced concrete caissons.
