The Port Authority of Bilbao is carrying out the Expansion Project of the Central Breakwater in the Outer Area (1st Phase). This enlargement modifies the floating areas of the Ciérvana dock, both in plan and in elevation.

Provisional beaconing has been designed to guarantee at all times the safety of navigation and the compatibility of the development of the works with the rest of the port activities. Likewise, the possible interference between the usual maritime traffic of the port and the traffic generated by the works has been analyzed from the transit times and areas of occupation by marine means. Finally, the exceedances of the wave thresholds that allow the maritime means to operate have been statistically analyzed.
