Highway 407E Drainage System in Toronto, Canada

The project is part of the future closure of the Toronto Bypass 407E with Highway 401. Proes carried out the construction design and tendering of the 10 km long West Durham Link.

Road drainage was designed using a combination of storm sewers, cross culverts, underdrains and roadside ditches. The drainage system was designed in accordance with standards and reference documents between HM The Queen by Right of Canada, and the 407 East Development Group General Partnership, and was designed to have a minimum capacity to carry the 10-year design storm without entering traffic lanes.
