Las obras ejecutadas forman parte del proyecto de la futura planta de regasificación de gas natural licuado (GNL) en el puerto de El Musel, Gijón, concretamente en la explanada ganada al mar al este del cabo Torres y al norte del actual dique.

En este proyecto se define la obra civil necesaria para ejecutar, tanto la captación como el vertido, de agua de mar para dar servicio al sistema de vaporizadores de la planta de regasificación de GNL. Asimismo, Proes desarrolla la posterior dirección de obra.
