The future port of Nouadhibou is located in the interior of the Bay of Lévrier, in the north of Mauritania. The objective of this study is to analyse, on a preliminary basis, the wave conditions in the area of the new port, to evaluate the capacity of the shelters, and to analyse the coastal dynamics in terms of potential transport.
It is worth noting the favorable shelter conditions against swell-type waves, with an expected negligible impact on the study area. Regarding locally generated wind-induced waves, they have been numerically assessed using the SWAN model.
