Proyecto de encauzamiento y estudio de hidrología del Wadi Liwa, Omán

The project involves channeling the Liwa River as it passes through a new residential area in the Liwa region of Oman.

The river´s basin is characterized by a desert climate with low annual rainfall but high-intensity precipitation. This, combined with the sparse vegetation, results in very high runoff volumes. The substantial runoff during rain events, along with the flat topography of the study area, leads to significant flooding issues at this location.
