Study of alternatives for the placement of a fixed and floating platform in Monfalcone, Italy

The objective of this project is the identification and proposal of the most optimal location for an FSRU terminal (Floating, Storage and Regasification Unitthat is, a Floating Regasification and Storage Terminal) in the vicinity of the Italian town of Monfalcone, in the Gulf of Trieste.

The necessary depth for the floating terminal cannot be obtained in the waters of the Gulf of Trieste, so it is necessary to go beyond 40 miles to position it. Therefore, the replacement of the FSRU terminal with a Gravity Base Structure (GBS), seems to be a good solution, as the characteristics of this type of installation require shallower depths.
