El crecimiento de la ciudad hacia el sur, atravesando la circunvalación, ha hecho necesaria la construcción de nuevos accesos peatonales que permitan cruzarla de forma segura, hasta que ésta pueda soterrarse.
La pasarela está proyectada mediante un tablero de vigas prefabricadas pretensadas de sección variable, de 22 metros de luz y 200 metros de longitud.
