The project includes the construction of 10 bridges and viaducts, as well as 25 retaining walls, and is part of the Bucaramanga-Barrancabermeja-Yondó highway, which will enhance connections from the east to the country's most important oil production centers.

The project also includes rehabilitation activities, road improvement, and new construction to create a corridor of approximately 152 kilometers, of which 95 kilometers will have dual carriageways (two lanes in each direction). The infrastructure will feature two tunnels (5.96 kilometers in total) and 34 viaducts. This project will enhance traffic flow in the region, boost economic development opportunities, and stimulate employment.
