The infrastructure will have a total length of 144 km, of which 82 km will be newly constructed, and the remaining 62 km will involve the rehabilitation and improvement of the existing route. The new section will include two tunnels and 79 bridges, the largest of which, over the Magdalena River in Puerto Berrío, will be 1,480 meters long. This new infrastructure is part of the fourth-generation road concessions program promoted by the Colombian Government to enhance connectivity between the country's production centers.
