The Somonte viaducts (both carriageways) are located on the A-8 dual carriageway, and are included in a joint project by Proes and Fomento, for inspections and the drafting of rehabilitation projects in road works on the State Road Network, sixth itinerary.

On the occasion of the bidding process for the works, Proes was required to update the rehabilitation projects, for which purpose it visited them and drafted the subsequent updated report on the damage and works to be carried out. In the specific case of the Somonte viaducts, the piers and the railing are the most affected by corrosion, also showing pathologies of runoff on the deck.
